Lines
Welcome to the NHL DFS Lines Tool at 5V5 Hockey β your daily source for projected forward lines, matchup breakdowns, and DraftKings stack insights.
This tool gives you a full breakdown of each teamβs even-strength lines, their projected matchups against opposing lines, and our proprietary 5v5 Matchup Score β a metric designed to help you identify the best line stacks for your DFS lineups on DraftKings, FanDuel, and OwnersBox.
Lines are updated daily and powered by Daily Faceoff, one of the most trusted sources for pregame line combinations, beat writer info, and player deployment.
This isnβt just a list of whoβs skating with who. We go deeper by showing:
You also get a Line Matchup Slider (see image above π), which makes it easy to scroll through and compare how each line matches up across all games. The darker green the cell, the more time that line is expected to face the opposing line.
The NHL team represented by the line. Teams are color-coded and separated by matchup for quick identification.
Indicates the line number (Forward Line 1, 2, 3, 4). Top lines often get more minutes, but matchups and price matter more.
These columns show what % of ice time each line is expected to spend against the opponentβs L1, L2, L3, or L4. This is critical for:
Our projections are built on historical line matching behavior β especially accurate for home teams with last change, which you can study further in our Home Ice Line Matching Tool.
Our proprietary 5v5 Score, which takes into account:
Higher scores = better matchups for fantasy production.
This is one of the most predictive metrics on our site when it comes to identifying which lines are most likely to score, generate volume, or outperform pricing.
The combined DraftKings salary for the entire line (LW, C, RW). This helps you quickly assess value stacks for DFS.
Each forward on the line, along with their DraftKings salary. Use this to mix-and-match two-man or three-man stacks depending on your cap space.

How this lineβs matchup score ranks across the slate β from highest to lowest. Top-ranked lines should be your primary stacking targets.
The actual combined DraftKings points this line scored after the game is completed β allowing you to review line performance and compare to the matchup projections.
Use Matchup Score + Line Salary to identify underpriced lines in great spots. A $13,000 second line with a top 3 matchup score is often a better GPP play than a chalky $19,000 top line facing elite defenders.
Look for lines projected to spend 60β70% of their ice time vs. L3 or L4 opponents. These are often massive edge spots β especially when the line includes PP1 exposure.
Lines expected to face opposing L1s or elite shutdown units (e.g., vs. BOS L1 or DAL L2) often have muted upside. Check matchups before committing to expensive chalk.
