NHL Player Game Ratings – Per-Game Offensive, Defensive & Overall Scores
The Player Game Ratings tool from 5V5 Hockey shows a per-game breakdown of every skater's offensive, defensive, and overall performance — expressed as a single 1–99 rating.
Ratings are computed using a z-score model within forward/defence position groups, shrinkage-adjusted by ice time, and scaled to a 1–99 range for easy comparison across games.
Column Guide

| Def | Defensive contribution rating (blocks, hits, +/-) |
| iXG | Individual expected goals generated in the game |
| G | Goals scored |
| A | Assists recorded |
| SOG | Shots on goal |
| Blk | Blocked shots |
| +/- | Plus/minus for the game |
| Drivers | Top stat contributors: green chips drove the rating up, red chips dragged it down |
How to Use This Tool
- Sort by Overall to find the best-performing skaters on a given game day
- Sort by Offense to target high-upside forwards for DFS or prop betting
- Filter by position (use the AG Grid column filter) to compare only forwards or only defence
- Filter by team to review all players in a specific matchup
- Use the Drivers column to understand what specifically drove a player's rating up (green) or down (red)
