Welcome to the Trending Tool at 5V5 Hockey — a real-time player momentum tracker built for season-long fantasy hockey, DFS lineup building, and player prop betting.

This tool evaluates every skater based on their last 100 games (baseline) and compares it to their most recent 5- and 10-game performance, helping you identify players:

  • Heating up and flying under the radar
  • Showing signs of decline or reduced usage
  • Delivering consistent fantasy value or volatility

How the Trending Tool Works

We start with a player's 100-game baseline, establishing their historical average across key categories (fantasy points, shots, goals, assists, etc.).

We then calculate:

  • Their average stats over the last 5 games
  • Their average stats over the last 10 games
  • The delta (difference) between recent form and baseline for each period

This allows you to quickly spot whether a player is:

  • Trending down (underperforming vs. expectations)

Key Functionality:

  • Toggle button: Switch between fantasy points view or raw stat view (shots, goals, assists, etc.)
  • Click a player name: View individual player trend breakdowns and more detailed stat deltas
  • Sort and filter: By position, team, delta, or trend strength

Delta 5 / Delta 10 Change in fantasy points vs. baseline over each span
Goals / Assists / Shots Raw stat versions when toggled from FP mode
