8. Browser Extension (5V5 Draft Assistant)
The 5V5 Draft Assistant is a Chrome extension that reads your live fantasy hockey draft and shows you a draft board, your roster, and the best remaining players ranked by our projections. This section describes how it handles data.
What it reads. While you have a Yahoo draft room open, the extension reads information already visible on that page: completed draft picks (pick number, player name, position, NHL team, fantasy team), your roster slots, the draft clock, player injury status, and your league's scoring settings. It reads this only on Yahoo fantasy draft addresses. It does not read any other website, your browsing history, your bookmarks, or your Yahoo account credentials.
What it stores. Draft data and your league settings are stored locally in your own browser using Chrome's extension storage. This stays on your device. It is cleared automatically when you start a different draft, and can be cleared at any time using the Reset button in the extension.
What it sends. The extension makes two kinds of request, both to 5v5hockey.com and to no one else. First, it requests player projections, sending only your league's scoring settings so the numbers match your league. No draft picks, no player names, and nothing identifying you are sent with that request. Second, it checks whether you are signed in to your 5V5 account, which reads only whether a session exists. Your draft picks, your roster, and your team never leave your browser.
What it does not do. The extension contains no analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts. It does not advertise, and it does not sell or share data. It sends no data to any server other than 5v5hockey.com. It never handles your password: registration and sign-in happen on 5v5hockey.com in a normal browser tab.
Removing your data. Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored locally. The Reset button clears stored draft data without uninstalling.
