Utah's NHL franchise began play in 2024 after relocating from Arizona, spending its debut season as Utah Hockey Club before adopting the Mammoth name and a tusked logo inspired by mammoth fossils found in the region. Based at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, the club carries no relocated franchise history, giving it a clean slate to build its own traditions in the Mountain West.
